The Absinthe Drinkers is a perfume from DSH Perfumes, celebrating the culture surrounding absinthe drinking among artists, writers, musicians and the general public in late nineteenth century Paris. The drink, said to have hallucinogenic effects, was often used by creatives to unleash their powers, but was strong enough to often leave the drinkers in a kind of stupor as they swam through the heaviness of the drink. Hurwitz celebrates the many artistic depictions of such drinkers with an old world aldehydic artemisia-scented perfume including wood violet and the alluring smell of skin. Notes include: Absinthe accord, aldehydes, ambrette seed, bergamot, Bulgarian rose absolute, costus, East Indian patchouli, fern, galbanum, jasmine grandiflorum, green cardamom, hay absolute, heliotrope, lemon, lily, mimosa absolute, lily of the valley, musk, orris concrete, ruh khus, star anise, sugar cube accord, violet, violet leaf absolute, wood violet.
