This creation is inspired by the happy, lively atmosphere of the medieval square of Gradara, where, amid laughter and whispered secrets, the jester, the eternal artist of intrigue, joy and madness, wanders. The term giullare [jester] is derived from the Latin jocus, or joke, and refers to an itinerant artist who performs in musical, dance, acrobatic and comic shows with the aim of entertaining the public. Our jester was present at the Gradara court, where, at the same time as dedicating himself primarily to stories, poetry and light, entertaining subjects, he was also required to possess a breadth of cultural knowledge and improvise verses from chivalric cantos and about courtly love.
